In such a difficult time for the world economy, Italian enterprises have to look for competitive solutions both to stabilize their market share and to improve their growth processes. In this context, Italy in order to maintain its leadership in international markets has to protect and valorize its own know-how in terms of innovation and research, focusing on exporting its distinguishing expertise.
It’s not a coincidence that one of cornerstones of the development strategy of Consorzio Roma Ricerche (CRR) is the internalization process of companies. CRR gives its supports to the Italian SMEs that aim to corner those markets that offer large opportunities to the products of the Italian industry: Italy must focus on technology transfer as a platform for development of the whole economic system.
The high level of expertise of Italian entrepreneurs and Italian researchers in those industrial sectors with high added value represents an intangible richness essential to the development of our economic system as well as of other countries. In addition to the traditional leading sectors of the Made in Italy, there are knowledge and talents coming from other industrial sectors of our country that can be exported. From this point of view, Central-South America represents an opportunity for that part of the Italian system made of high-technological level firms which invest in R&D and which may find a natural end-market in these emerging economies.
From this point of view Consorzio Roma Ricerche (CRR) has signed with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce SouthEast (IACCS) an institutional agreement that foresees the creation of an operative desk in Miami to give support to the Italian enterprises wishing to introduce their products and/or processes with high added value in the countries of Southeast USA, Latin America and Caribbean.
The content of the agreement is to foster the creation of institutional Italy-USA information networks on issues and opportunities offered by these markets, intercept and share new business models and innovative strategies and/or services, and develop outgoing and incoming processes by a stable control of the territory.
At the moment the support to the Italian companies, established also as enterprises networks, is given in the following areas: Aerospace, Green Economy, ICT for Arts and Culture, Biotechnology, and Creative Industries. CRR, through the operative desk in Miami, will drive the Italian companies in their internationalization in these market sectors, providing a wide range of services as market research, meetings with research centers, business incubators and economic promotion agencies, support for events and exhibitions, creation of profiled mailing list and legislative and technical assistance.
The agreement signed by CRR and IACCS is the first step to export the Italian technological expertise. Florida nowadays is the gateway to reach the emerging markets of Central and generally of South America, markets that are in their full expansion and that are building their future focusing on research, process and/or product innovation, strengthening the link between industry and academic world. The industrial sectors of great appeal to our companies, as the sectors highly specialized such as photonics, prototyping, green economy, aerospace, pharmaceutics and biotechnology, are also in the process of expanding. In addition, the Governments foster the development of the technological infrastructure through a very concise regulation customized for industry.
The secret of such strong growth lies in the very close link between research and industry and in $ 7 billion of Private-public investments in innovation and research projects, technology development and transfer projects and in research program to be carried out in scientific institutes.
Florida has, above all, a strategic position right in the middle of very important markets like North, Central and South America and, since its early days, has always been multiethnic, multilingual and committed to change, becoming more and more a region that catalyzes investments and resources of companies from the entire world.
Goal of the partnership between Consorzio Roma Ricerche and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce South-East is to export the expertise of the Made in Italy that with its innovative energy represents a growth opportunity for the Italian system, in an area with a high level of innovation and progression. Italy can export not only food and fashion, but also talent and excellence in sectors with a high level of innovation encouraging and promoting a virtuous circle for a general transfer of technology from our companies to abroad.
