Rome has always been known in the world as a symbol of civilization and culture and for the unparalleled concentration of art treasures. But there is so much more! The city, over recent years, has become the mark of entrepreneurship, ranking first in Italy for the number of registered companies (over 456 thousands on September 30, 2012), something which ensures optimal conditions for development: cutting-edge projects and achievements, university centers, higher education and advanced technology.
We also offer a wide range of top quality products to foreign markets, both in advanced innovation (hi-tech, aerospace, biotechnology) areas and in “traditional” sectors: from wine and food to fashion, from goldsmith’s art up to nautical industry.
Our Capital also boasts a rich and varied cultural events calendar hosted in exceptional infrastructures, such as the Auditorium Parco della Musica, designed by Renzo Piano, which houses the National Academy of Santa Cecilia; and then the Opera House and the MAXXI (the National XXI Century Art Museum designed by Zaha Hadid).
For these reasons, the Chamber of Commerce of Rome is strengthening its commitment to internationalization, through specific initiatives, some of which already reached an advanced stage of implementation. At the same time, the Chamber of Commerce has recently set up the consortium Agency for Internationalization in order to side SMEs in an aggregation perspective and encourage them to engage in forms of more stable and rooted presence in foreign markets, with a particular focus on the high-growth economies of the NAFTA and BRICS countries.
